Clever Designs We Love

One can marvel at the work of architects, furniture designers, and others who create big things, but there is much to see also from designers who concentrate in small items of potential everyday use. Here are a few that we found this week:

Star Wars Ice Cube Set

Ice cubes can be more that cold little squares. Take a look at this Star Wars Ice Cube Set. Your kids (and let’s face it you too!) would love to see them floating in a glass, right?

You can even use this same tray to create these delightful R2-D2 white chocolate treats.

Gamago Skull Ice Cube

And here’s an ice cube a little “darker.” But seeing the Gamago Skull Ice Cube already at work, does it look scary or like crystal art instead?

Skull and Crossbones Sugar Cubes

And since we are already seeing skulls and bones, how about these sugar cubes designed by Snow Violent? We find them adorable. What do you think?

Bites and Pieces Crust Cutter

We are certain that the fun design of this Bites and Pieces Crust Cutter will give you some ideas, because if you cut your kids’ sandwiches in adorable little shapes chances are they are going to eat them faster. Peanut butter and jelly, ham and cheese, we see all sorts of possibilities here.

Sunnyside Egg Shaper

And this one is just awesome. “SunnySide,” by Avihai Shurin can help you create a picture on your plate. All you have to do is pour the yolk in the sun area and the whites will travel on their own to the cloud area. How cute would this breakfast plate be! We totally want one.

There are lovely new items everywhere you look. But they do not happen by accident! We all must be thankful for the creativity of some many clever designers!
